An Alpina is far more than just another upgraded BMW! Alpina takes a BMW (a car that nearly reaches perfection), and pushes it over the limits of perfection itself. The treatment has been the same for decades: the car enters the Buchloe headquarters of Alpina, and gets lavished with interior, exterior and mechanical upgrades. That is why a real Alpina gets a new VIN-number, and the car is registered under the make Alpina. Production figures always stay extremely low, which makes them highly desirable cars for years to come.

When BMW launches the Z4, it didn't have a real high end model as in the Z3-series. Alpina jumped into that gap, and created its own vision of the M-badge. They called it the Alpina Roadster S. This bespoke version of the BMW sports car was built between July 2003 and December 2005. BMW launched its own top-of-the-line roadster, the Z4M, in 2006. Only 200 LHD Alpina Roadster S' were built , accompanied by 100 RHD's.
With 300 prancing horses under the long bonnet and a weight of 1.416 kilos, the car leaps to 100 km/h in only 5,3 seconds. And due to a 3.4 litre engine (compared to a 3.2 for the later BMW Z4M), the Alpina boasts a whopping 362 Nm of torque, whereas the M-version offers only 3Nm extra.

These impressive performance figures are matched with a refined exterior and interior upgrade package. The body kit accentuates the curvy lines of the Z4, with only a front air dam and a rather subtle rear spoiler. 19 Inch wheels in the typical Alpina design finish off the exterior modifications. On the inside, Alpina covered the steering wheel, the dash and the door card inserts in leather with its signature blue and green stitching. The seats and the steering wheel proudly wear the Alpina-logo, as does the wind deflector.

This black-on-black Roadster (production number 233) was built in 2005, and first exported to Japan. It came back to Europe, where it was meticulously maintained by its previous owner. With a total of only 64.500 kilometers on the clock, the car is just beginning its automotive journey. As with every Roadster S, the car is lavished with extra's such as a sound system, navigation, heated seats, rain and light sensor, electric soft top and a fully automatic air conditioner. Combined with the impressive soundtrack of the straight six and the top down, this Roadster is your perfect partner for a sunny voyage to the south of France.
