At the recent Beijing Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled its new Touareg. It is in fact a complete overhaul of the current generation. In concrete terms, Volkswagen is proposing a front end and a rear section that are more dynamic. In the front, you will find broader views, a radiator and a front bumper with some chrome and a redesigned lower air inlet. In the rear, the seasoned eye will note a new extractor, remodelled exhaust pipes and, finally, LED daytime running lights. For this version, the carmaker is also introducing new colours, never-seen-before rims of up to 21 inches and new fabric colours for the passenger compartment. Inside, there is a new dashboard with a larger top deck, added chrome inserts, redesigned knobs and dashboard lights that switch from red to white.
With this Touareg, fans of high-tech equipment will be ecstatic. The list of options includes an info-entertainment system with an Internet connection. Online mobile services and Google functions are prime features. This SUV can also come equipped with cameras offering a 360° view, known as Area View. The range of engines is the same: two V6 3.0 TDI (204 hp and 258 hp), a V8 3.0 TDI (340 hp) and a hybrid engine (380 hp). All of the engines now comply with Euro 6 standards. There is nothing new to report for the automatic transmission and the four-wheel drive. The Touareg will be in dealerships this summer.
