With just a few weeks to go before the Paris Motor Show, not a day goes by without a car maker announcing some new release. Audi started by presenting a makeover for the A7. And now, here comes the RS7, the ultra-sport version in the range. Is this the art of maintaining suspense? Not really.
A close examination of this RS7 reveals only a redesigned front end with an airflow vent available in different colours and with new Matrix LED headlamps. For the rest, Audi is offering optional 21-inch aluminium rims as well as carbon ceramic disc brakes.
Inside, there are no surprises! The changes are discreet. You'd need a sharp eye to find the changes made to the airflow system or the paddle shifters. However, the RS7 does have a rich array of accessories. These include the MMI navigation system, the Audi Infotainment module, 4G Internet connection and the Bang & Olufsen audio system. Now that's class!
To power this RS7, Audi has kept the 560-hp 4.0 TFSI V8 engine and paired it with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the Quattro all-wheel-drive system. As an option, this transmission can be equipped with a “Sport” gear on the rear axle. With characteristics like these, we shouldn't be surprised that the RS7 can go from 0 to 100 km/hour in 3.9 seconds, or that its top speed will range from 280 to 305 km/hour, depending on the options.
So what do you think of this sports car?
