Amongst the major releases that the public will see for the first time at Heysel Palace, the Porsche Macan will certainly have a place all its own. And the small SUV is already drawing crowds.
Porsche's new SUV, the Macan, which is more compact than the Cayenne, made its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show. After its European premiere in Palace 12, it should be available on the market in April.
Upon release, the Macan will be available with three engine types. The diesel version will have a 3.0-litre V6 engine with 258 horsepower. The gasoline range will be composed of the Macan S, with its 340-horsepower 3.0-litre turbo V6, and the Macan Turbo, which has a 400-horsepower 3.6-litre turbo engine.
It would seem that the car maker is downshifting its engine range, including flat four-cylinder engines.
An abundant offer
All the engine types will be coupled with the seven-speed PDK automatic transmission. The compact SUV is obviously equipped with integral transmission. Sport and Off Road buttons will ensure great versatility, whereas the Sport Chrono Package will meet the needs of racing enthusiasts.
The active suspension will offer three operating modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus, whereas the air suspension will enable the height of the chassis to be raised several centimetres. As is customary with Porsche, the list of options is long. The entry-level Macan will cost about 60,000 euros.
