Camouflaged photos of the Audi A1 have been making their rounds for a few days on the web. They are not announcing the second generation of this Premium compact car, but in fact its light remodelling. The S1 sport version, revealed in Geneva last March, was the first to benefit from this aesthetic retouch. At the Paris Motor Show at the start of October, it will be high time that the rest of the A1 range benefits.
The photographers who caught the prototypes – who are without a doubt conducting their final road tests before the official presentation – have discovered the first key details of this recast. They really seem to have been inspired by those seen on the sparkling S1 with its 231 hp.
In practical terms, the front seems to have taken on exactly the same headlights and radiator grill as the Audi S1. The interior of the optics have also received the signature circumflex accent that is dear to the current models of the ringed brand. You must also note the modified pattern of the lateral ‘nostrils’ which accompany new rectangular fog lamps.
At the rear, the photographers have observed a few small changes. It seems well and truly, despite the presence of the stickers, that the internal design of the lights has also been modified. Lastly, Audi has completely redesigned the lower part of the rear bumper.
Concerning the technical modifications and the mechanical evolutions, no official information is circulating at the moment. That said, we can expect from Audi’s part the introduction of new high-tech gadgets and a few extra horsepower. To be continued...
According to you, will the new touches insure the survival of the A1?
