BMW is currently testing the next iteration of the BMW 1-Series in winter conditions. This rival to the CLA and A3 4-door should be released at the end of the year.
This new model will probably share its UKL platform with the Mini, 2-Series Active Tourer and the new X1. It will therefore probably not be available in rear-wheel drive but rather in front-wheel drive like its rivals, the A3 4-door and the Mercedes CLA.
This 4-door version will call upon the same engine as the other models which use the UKL platform. On this prototype, the camouflage is slightly lighter than on the models we’ve caught on camera up until now, leading us to speculate that the launch may come before the end of this year.
Will the move away from rear-wheel drive on the 1-Series be a deal breaker for you?
