De Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is zonder enige twijfel een van de mooiste open auto’s in de autogeschiedenis. Het stijlvolle en eenvoudige ontwerp is afkomstig van Pinin Farina en de auto werd geïntroduceerd op de Autosalon van Parijs in 1955. De Alfa Romeo Giulietta werd in verschillende carrosserievarianten op de markt gebracht, waaronder dus deze schitterende cabrioletversie, de Spider.

Deze volledig gerestaureerde Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is geproduceerd in 1961 en werd vervolgens begin 1962 geleverd door de Engelse dealer Thomson & Taylor. De eerste eigenaar (een bankier, dhr. Fitzherbert) liet de auto gelijk afleveren in Boulogne op speciale Engelse ‘Q-plates’ en heeft er sindsdien vele reizen door Europa mee gemaakt. Erg leuk detail, de originele aankoopnota’s en het originele service/garantieboekje zijn nog bij de auto aanwezig. In 1977 heeft dhr. Janssen uit Nederland de auto overgenomen. Nadat deze Giulietta Spider bijna 14 jaar heeft stilgestaan, is deze 2e eigenaar begonnen met een volledige, professionele restauratie, waarbij ook het technische gedeelte volledig is gereviseerd. Een uitgebreid fotoverslag hiervan is bij de auto aanwezig. De auto is in 1995 voor het eerst in Nederland geregistreerd. Ongeveer drie jaar later ging deze prachtige Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider over in handen van de derde (en huidige) Nederlandse eigenaar. En hij heeft deze stijlvolle Italiaanse klassieker meegenomen op verschillende reizen door Europa en heeft ook deelgenomen aan diverse internationale rally evenementen. Er is ook nog een FIVA Certificaat bij de auto aanwezig. De auto heeft overigens ook nog lange tijd (van 2009 tot 2024) een Spaanse registratie gehad, in verband met een tweede woning in Spanje. Op dit moment heeft deze Alfa Romeo weer zijn originele Nederlandse registratie.

Het is zonder enige twijfel duidelijk zichtbaar dat deze Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider met zeer veel liefde en zorg is onderhouden. Dat blijkt niet alleen uit de uitgebreide documentatie die bij de auto aanwezig is, maar vooral uit de auto zelf. In 2017 is de originele motor opnieuw gereviseerd en is de carrosserie ook opnieuw gespoten. Wat deze auto extra bijzonder maakt, is het feit dat de auto nog volledig ‘matching-numbers’ is en nog zijn originele kleurenconfiguratie heeft. De auto is dus nog steeds in de schitterende Rosso Alfa carrosseriekleur met zwartlederen stoelen. Door de liefdevolle aandacht van de drie eigenaren die de auto heeft gehad, is de auto in uitmuntende conditie. De rode kleur heeft een schitterende diepe glans en ook de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen zijn in glanzende en perfecte staat. Dit is ook van toepassing op de rubberdelen en afwerkingen. De carrosseriedelen sluiten zeer goed op elkaar aan en ook de portieren sluiten degelijk en goed. De zwarte cabrioletkap is in zeer goede (bijna nieuw) staat.

Het interieur is in indrukwekkende en zeer goede conditie. De rode vloerbekleding vormt een perfecte combinatie bij de zwartlederen stoelen. De stoelen zitten niet alleen bijzonder comfortabel, maar zijn in zeer goede staat. Ook het dashboard is nog in schitterende en perfecte conditie. De instrumenten werken uiteraard naar behoren en de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen zijn in zeer goede conditie. Het houten Nardi stuurwiel is niet alleen schitterend om te zien, maar vormt ook een prachtige combinatie met het interieur.

Onder de motorkap ligt het volledig gereviseerde en originele 1290cc motor met 80 pk. Voldoende vermogen dus om bijzonder soepel en sportief met deze unieke Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider te kunnen rijden. Het is duidelijk te zien dat deze auto bijzonder goed is onderhouden. Er is een zeer groot deel van de onderhoudsfacturen bij de auto aanwezig. De auto rijdt en schakelt bijzonder soepel en ook de remmen voelen degelijk en zeer goed aan. Sturen gaat ook erg soepel, maar we hadden uiteraard ook niet anders verwacht.

Deze auto is in meerdere opzichten zeer bijzonder en wacht nu weer op een volgende liefhebber, die voor deze Italiaanse schoonheid kan gaan zorgen en vooral kan gaan genieten!

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was marketed in various body styles, including this stunning convertible version, the Spider.

This fully restored Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider was produced in 1961 and subsequently delivered in early 1962 by the English dealer Thomson & Taylor. The first owner (a banker, Mr. Fitzherbert) had the car delivered immediately in Boulogne on special English ‘Q-plates’ and has made many trips through Europe with it since then. A very nice detail is that the original purchase invoices and the original service/warranty booklet are still present with the car. In 1977, Mr. Janssen from the Netherlands acquired the car. After this Giulietta Spider had been standing still for nearly 14 years, this second owner began a complete, professional restoration, during which the technical components were also fully overhauled. An extensive photo report of this is included with the car. The car was first registered in the Netherlands in 1995. Approximately three years later, this beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider passed into the hands of the third (and current) Dutch owner. He has taken this stylish Italian classic on various trips through Europe and has also participated in various international rally events. A FIVA Certificate is also included with the car. It is without any doubt clearly visible that this Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider has been maintained with great love and care. This is evident not only from the extensive documentation included with the car, but especially from the car itself. In 2017, the original engine was overhauled again and the bodywork was also repainted. What makes this car extra special is the fact that it is still fully matching numbers and retains its original color configuration. The car is therefore still in the stunning Rosso Alfa body color with black leather seats. Thanks to the loving care of the car's three owners, it is in excellent condition. The red color has a beautiful deep shine, and the various chrome and trim parts are also in shiny and perfect condition. This also applies to the rubber parts and finishes. The body panels fit together very well, and the doors also close solidly and securely. The black convertible top is in very good (almost new) condition.

The interior is in impressive and very good condition. The red carpeting forms a perfect combination with the black leather seats. The seats are not only exceptionally comfortable but are in very good condition. The dashboard is also still in stunning and perfect condition. The instruments naturally function properly, and the various chrome and trim parts are in very good condition. The wooden Nardi steering wheel is not only stunning to look at, but also forms a beautiful combination with the interior.

Under the hood lies the fully overhauled and original 1290cc engine with 80 hp. Therefore, sufficient power to drive this unique Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider in a particularly smooth and sporty manner. It is clear to see that this car has been exceptionally well maintained. A very large portion of the maintenance invoices are included with the car. The car drives and shifts exceptionally smoothly, and the brakes also feel solid and very good. Steering is also very smooth, but naturally, we would not have expected anything less.
