De Volvo 700 serie werd door Volvo geproduceerd van 1982 tot 1992 en het model kwam in verschillende carrosserievarianten op de markt. In 1985 werd de Volvo 780 Coupé geïntroduceerd. Dit model is ontworpen door de Belgische ontwerper Marc Deschamps, in die tijd werkzaam bij Carrozzeria Bertone. Daar werd deze stijlvolle en luxe coupé ook geproduceerd.
Deze in 1988 geproduceerde Volvo 780, met 2 liter turbomotor, is niet alleen in Italië geproduceerd, maar ook oorspronkelijk geleverd. In 1996 is deze auto door Volvo specialist Schmidt in Gemert naar Nederland gehaald en voorzien van Nederlandse registratie. De auto is lange tijd eigendom geweest van een particuliere eigenaar en in 2014 in de privé collectie van Volvo dealer Arendsen gekomen. Nadat de auto lange tijd in dit mini-museum heeft gestaan, is de auto in bezit gekomen van een andere Volvo liefhebber. Sindsdien is deze prachtige Volvo 780 Bertone met zeer veel liefde en zorg onderhouden.
De auto is nog in uitzonderlijk goede en originele conditie. Deze prachtige Beige Metallic Volvo 780 heeft nog steeds de originele carrosseriekleur. De lak is nog in zeer goede conditie en heeft een stijlvolle en diepe glans. Ook de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen zijn nog in zeer goede staat. Dit is ook van toepassing op de diverse rubberdelen en afwerkingen. De originele 15” lichtmetalen velgen zijn niet alleen schitterend om te zien, maar ook nog eens in uitzonderlijk mooie conditie. Deze prachtige Volvo is ook nog eens voorzien van een origineel glazen schuif/kantel dak.
Het interieur is nog in volledig originele en zeer nette conditie. De perfect bijpassende bruin/zwart lederen bekleding is nog in zeer goede staat en de stoelen zitten bijzonder comfortabel. Het dashboard is prachtig om te zien en in zeer goede conditie. Alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. Deze stijlvolle Volvo 780 Bertone heeft nog de originele Volvo radio/cassette speler. De stoelen zijn volledig elektrisch verstelbaar en zijn ook voorzien van stoelverwarming. De verschillende houtafwerkingen zijn nog in zeer goede conditie en vormen een perfecte combinatie bij het interieur.
Onder de motorkap ligt een zeer goed onderhouden 2 liter motorblok met een turbo. Dit motorblok levert 155 pk en dat is voldoende vermogen om comfortabel en soepel met deze stijlvolle coupé te rijden.
