Description
- Highly sought-after Porsche 356 A T2 Coupé by Reutter, one of the most desirable configurations within the 356 range
- Final production year of the Porsche 356 A (1958), generally regarded as the most refined year of the A-series
- Bodywork by Reutter — historic Porsche coachbuilder and absolute reference for early 356 Coupés
- Equipped with a Type 616/1 T6 1600 cc engine from the Porsche 356 B
- Older professional restoration with an honest and authentic presentation
The Porsche 356 A is considered by many enthusiasts to be the ideal balance within the entire 356 family. With a total production of approximately 21,000 units across all body styles, the 356 A is significantly rarer than the later 356 B models, while well-preserved and authentic examples are even scarcer today due to modifications, competition use, and extensive restorations in the past.
This example is a 356 A T2 Coupé, built in 1958, the final production year of the A-series. The T2 version is regarded as the most technically developed variant within the 356 A generation and combines classic styling with the most refined engineering of the A-series. As a result, T2 models are often considered the “sweet spot” within the 356 A range.
The bodywork was produced by Karosserie Reutter, the historic coachbuilder that worked closely with Porsche from the very beginning. Reutter was known for its high-quality steel construction, precise fit and finish, and timeless proportions, making 356 models with Reutter bodies particularly authentic and highly collectible today.
An additional interesting technical detail is the presence of a Type 616/1 T6 1600 cc engine from a Porsche 356 B T6 (engine number 608366). This later engine variant offers smoother power delivery and more refined running characteristics, enhancing the driving experience without compromising the classic character of the early 356. Combined with the lightweight A T2 chassis, this results in a particularly well-balanced and driver-focused configuration.
This example was professionally restored in the past and presents today with an honest overall condition, with signs of use and attention points properly documented.
