Description

The very first generation of the Porsche 911, affectionately known in Germany as the “Urmodell der Neunelfer” — the original 911. This particular example dates from the earliest years of 911 production and is therefore a true short-wheelbase car, representing one of the purest expressions of the model.

The bodywork was built by Karmann, a name synonymous with exceptional German craftsmanship. Combined with the accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this further underlines the car’s high collector value.

Our example is nothing short of remarkable. Between 2016 and 2018, the car underwent a complete bare-metal restoration with no expense spared. The body was refinished in its original color, while the mechanical components were carefully rebuilt and enhanced by APP Racing Engines.

At its heart lies the original 2.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine, fully rebuilt with lightweight pistons and an S-spec camshaft, now producing approximately 190 horsepower. Power is delivered through a fully rebuilt, matching-numbers five-speed manual gearbox with the classic dogleg H-pattern shift layout.

This 911 was first registered in June 1966 and delivered new in California, USA. In 1991, it was imported to the Netherlands, where it has since been cherished by passionate owners.

The body is finished in elegant silver metallic paint, beautifully complemented by a refined black leatherette interior enhanced with tasteful wooden details. The car sits on 15-inch silver Fuchs wheels with black center caps, paired with gold brake calipers and Avon tires, completing its unmistakable appearance.

Inside, you will find classic VDO instrumentation, a striking four-spoke steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio that perfectly captures the spirit of the era.

During the restoration, the original engine was not only rebuilt but also thoughtfully upgraded; the matching-numbers gearbox was overhauled and reinstalled; and the brakes, suspension, wiring, and interior were all renewed to the very highest standards. No compromises were made — and it shows in the driving experience: direct, precise, and full of character. A machine that does exactly what you expect from it, and far more, equally at home on spirited drives as it is effortlessly covering long distances in comfort and confidence.

The restoration and history are extensively documented and accompanied by a detailed photographic report.

“Old cars end up in scrapyards. Old Porsches end up in museums.”
