Description
Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, the Ferrari 348 succeeded the 308 and 328 and marked a significant evolution in the history of Maranello's V8 berlinettas. Its Pininfarina design adopted the stylistic codes of the Testarossa, with its famous side vents and taillights concealed behind a black grille.
The 348 also introduced a new architecture with its longitudinally mounted V8 engine, coupled to a transverse 5-speed gearbox – an arrangement that gave rise to its name: 3.4 liters, 8 cylinders. Its naturally aspirated 3,405 cc V8 produced 300 hp, sent exclusively to the rear wheels, without the numerous electronic driver aids that would characterize subsequent generations of Ferraris.
The 348 TS version adds to this mechanical setup the pleasure of a removable Targa-style roof. It thus combines the berlinetta's lines with the possibility of open-air driving. Unassisted steering, a metal gearbox gate, a naturally aspirated engine, and highly mechanical controls make it a Ferrari that is particularly representative of the brand's analog era.
This Ferrari 348 TS, chassis ZFFKA36B000087392, was first registered on January 11, 1991. Its file allows us to trace its origins in Germany, where it had several owners and registrations during the 1990s, as evidenced by its original Fahrzeugbrief and the various administrative stamps found therein.
The car then went to Belgium, its chassis number also being included on its Belgian certificate of conformity.
