Slotted beneath the sultry bodywork is a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 579 hp while mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a gated shifter. The Murcielago could also be ordered with Lamborghini’s infamous six-speed e-gear automated manual but it is the traditional stick shift models that are now the most desirable.

Sous la carrosserie sensuelle se niche un moteur V12 atmosphérique de 6,2 litres développant 579 chevaux, associé à une boîte manuelle à six vitesses avec un levier à grille. La Murciélago pouvait également être commandée avec la célèbre boîte manuelle automatisée à six vitesses dite e-gear de Lamborghini, mais ce sont désormais les modèles à boîte manuelle traditionnelle qui sont les plus désirables.
