Description

The Lancia Flaminia was born as a large, imposing luxury sedan. Its engine came from the 2500cc V6 of the Aurelia.
which it replaced. Exquisitely finished and technically advanced, the Flaminia is what is commonly called a "Grand Car." Lancia provided coachbuilders with a shortened Flaminia platform, available in two wheelbases: 2.52 m for the two-seater and 2.75 m for the four/five-seater. Zagato was responsible for producing the "Sport" version, featuring an aerodynamic body. Touring handled the "GT" version, the Grand Touring, a splendid coupé that was also available as a convertible and later as a 2+2.

From 1959 onwards, the master designer Pininfarina worked on the Coupé, a luxurious two-door, four/five-seater car with exemplary finishing. The first version
It developed 119 hp (3201 units) and was replaced in 1962 by the 3B, a 128 hp version with a triple-barrel carburetor (950 units). The final version adopted the 2800cc, 140 hp engine (1085 units).

The Flaminia's chassis was an evolution of the Aurelia's, but it was significantly improved. The front suspension was modified to a more conventional configuration with double wishbones, coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers, and an anti-roll bar. The rear suspension retained the De Dion configuration, with a transaxle mounted at the rear as in the Aurelia. The first Berlina was available with drum or disc brakes, while all subsequent models used only discs. They benefited from Pirelli Cinturato 165H400 CA67 radial tire technology.
The two original Flaminia body styles were developed by Pinin Farina and modeled after his two special motor show models based on the Aurelia, called the Florida. The Florida I, presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1955, was a sedan with rear-hinged doors. The Florida II, presented a year later at the Geneva International Motor Show, was a two-door coupé and became Battista Farina's personal car. The production version of the Lancia Flaminia appeared in 1957.

This Lancia Flaminia was produced in 1960 and registered in Italy the same year. Four owners succeeded one another in Italy until 2018, each keeping this Flaminia for many years. The first owner kept it from 1960 to 1964, the second from 1964 to 1969, the third from 1969 to 1982, and the fourth from 1982 to 2018. The last owner bought it in 2018 and kept it in his private collection for the last six years. It has undergone a significant restoration in recent years, namely:

  •  Engine overhaul
  •  Replacement of front brake blocks and various hoses
  •  New paint job (but with defects)
  •  Red leather upholstery and trim on the new doors
  •  New carpet on the floor
  •  New exhaust

The chassis and bodywork are in good condition. During the body and chassis restoration about ten years ago, repairs were carried out and chassis protection was installed. The paintwork is glossy and attractive, but has some imperfections. Note a few stone chips and some touch-ups on scratches.
